Posterity: The Struggle and Resilience of the Migrant Families of the Caribbean

Sep - Dec

Posterity: The struggle and resilience of the migrant families of the Caribbean is a photography project. The project will seek to engage and research the family histories of Caribbean families living within Newham.

Six Families will be interviewed to learn of their family history and migration to Britain.

In the 50 and 60s, family photos were traditionally taken and sent back to the West Indies, the images were infused with hope and messages of their new found prosperity of living in the mother country of England.

These original images taken in the 50s/60s will be collated and reproduced for an exhibition alongside family photographs of families now in the same style.
